Nima Nikzad, Ph.D., is a Viterbi Fellow of Data Science working on digital medicine related efforts at STSI. He received his doctorate in computer science from the University of California, San Diego in 2015. His graduate research focused on middleware and programming language support for the development of energy-efficient mobile applications, such as those for continuous health monitoring. Dr. Nikzad previously obtained his M.S. at UC San Diego and his B.S. at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Dr. Nikzad’s research interests broadly revolve around issues of reliability and privacy impacting the future of wireless healthcare. Examples include the information-flow tracking via static program analysis, user-context recognition systems, software techniques for detecting and adjusting for faulty sensor data, and the development of reliable and energy-efficient sensing devices.
