Improving Visual Function in Patients with Age-related Macular Degeneration

Age-related macular degeneration (ARMD) is a degenerative retinal disorder, affecting nearly one third of patients over the age of 55 in the United States and other developed countries. In the early stages of this condition, patients complain of increasing difficulty reading, decreased visual sensitivity, loss of contrast sensitivity and poor dark adaptation.
