STSI PILOT AWARD APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR SOLICITATION
For the past 5 years, the STSI Pilot Award Program has been based upon funding STSI received under the Clinical & Translational Science Award (CTSA) from NIH/NCATS. We have been awarded another 5 year cycle for our CTSA grant allowing us to continue funding top tier translational pilot awards.
New: There are no longer carry forward requests of unspent funds allowed within our Pilot program. With this in mind, we have retooled the application/award process to comply with this request from NIH/NCATS. All applications will be solicited from January – March of every year with only ONE cycle of applications to be awarded with a grant start date of May 1st. Below are the updated documents for our new cycle, including our new grant number for reference.
Also, in the new cycle of the CTSA, we are restricted to 10% of our budget for pilot studies (instead of 25-30% in the first 5 years). Accordingly, the STSI Executive Committee has opted to use a “Special Emphasis” strategy. Pilot study focus will be announced during the application period, and proposals within that emphasis will be prioritized for review and funding. Thank you for support of STSI and its pilot study funding program!
The STSI Pilot grants consist of awards for approximately $50,000 of direct cost funds relating to translational research that has the potential to impact the future of medicine.
